We have all read terrible reports about NHS hospitals. I was in hospital yesterday having an operation. I must say other than germs that I cannot see with my naked eye the service was second to none.
We were in the women's health section and four of us went in at the same time. the sisterhood that was created by our similar fate was amazing. We changed into or ghastly hospital gowns as we waited in the production line.
Thumbs up to immigrant nurses and doctors who were looking after us. They know the anxiety that patience have when going for procedures and they treated us like queens.
My appointment was for 12.30 pm and by 12.40 I was on my operation bed listening to the anaesthetist's small talk to try and make me feel at ease before he sent me to lala land.
When I woke up it recovery room I was greeted the the nurses smile and wheeled back to the ward where I found that my husband was already waiting because they had phoned him.
After the 30 minutes compulsory rest I was given a compulsory cup of tea which is served with a biscuit of toast so that you take your tablets before you are safely dispatched home.
I will not believe a word against the hard working men and women in NHS before evidence is put in front of me.

Update
For the past few days I have not been up to date with the news. However there is a big story today, Blair is standing for the European presidency. Good old Tony.
It is dissapointing many tabloid editors and the conservative party.
Why are these people not happy to see a British man heading the European Union? Where is the spirit of Brittania. Brittain is always going to be a member of the European Eunion -fact. The Lisbon Treaty is going to be signed and sealed by the end of the week if we are to believe what we are reading.
In light of all of this the British people should be proud to have a strong contender to head the European Union. Unless of course if there is another British contender that they would like to put forward.
I cant understand why the people of this nation would want to be led by a person they do not know instead of Tony Blair.
I will be popping champaign if Mr Blair gets the job as the head Honcho.

Nick griffin's appearance on BBC question time yesterday caused a furore. I congratulate BBC for inviting him to participate. He was given a floor to air his views.
However he seemed unprepared for the public. He spend two thirds of the time grinning and denying his statements. I was disappointed because I expected him to come out stronger and defend his views in a more articulate way.
Now he has reinforced what I have always thought about him. He is an unintelligent man who is disillusioned by his life.
At least now we can move on the the new headlines:- Britain is still in recession 6 months after German and France....

Hysterical Britain
There was an uproar because of Jan Moir 's column last week. I am left wondering how many people actually read the comment before posting their reactions.
Jan Moir was representing her point of view. In this country there is freedom of speech.
I do not think she is in minority. There are many people who agree with her. There was no reason for the overeaction, calling for the boycott of the paper and all advertiser who use it.
She came up with valid observations. Many people may not agree with her but that is her take on things.
The public have accused her of upsetting the family. I doubt if that the family of the unfortunate young man were reading the daily mail column during their bereavement. What was more harmful was the electronic media's continued coverage of the column and the overzealous fans calling for the advertisers to boycott daily mail.
The daily mail and advertisers sponsoring the column were never in any danger there are many rational people out there who see newspaper column as they are-: an expression of the writer's opinion.
The daily mail covers many controversial opinions that I do not agree with. However, that is what a free society is about. Many daily mail readers agree with them.
People need to stop this mob psychology of ganging up on an individuals, that is if indeed there is freedom of speech in Britain.
Also to be noted having 100000 people supporting an opinion does not make it right for the the fewer people that do not. We can have thousands of people slating this poor lady just because they do not agree with her but that does not make her wrong.
The mass hysteria created by the electronic media probably drew attention to this column and caused more harm than the content of the column.
